Most Black Friday advice is about the offer. What to discount, when to email, how to make the deal feel urgent. And all of that matters, but it assumes your website is up to speed and will convert when the shopper gets there.
In this session I'm going to walk you through lots of things you can do on your website, (yourself - without a developer) to give you lots more chances to make sales this Black Friday (and beyond).
We'll discuss:
- Human psychology that influences purchases
- What AI and people are looking for on your pages
- What makes a great product page in 2026/27
- Shopper bug bears you can put right in minutes
- The things you need to keep an eye on to get the best out of your website
A bit about these sessions
I'm Lisa and I've been making websites for almost 25 years for people such as BBC Two, Sainsbury's and Aardman. Now I head up 18a, a web development agency based just outside Bristol. 18a was named one of the Nation's Favourite Businesses 2026 by Small Business Saturday, and I'm marking that by running a season of free sessions in the countdown to December.
They're all standalone, they're all free, and they're all built around the idea that you should be able to understand what's happening with the most important asset in your business without having to become a developer first.
